Founder Brandon Davis started Cryo Care after he and his wife decided to switch IVF clinics and had to move embryos from Connecticut to New York City. While the trip was less than 50 miles, both labs recommended shipping the embryos, a process that would be completed by Fedex. The Davises couldn’t imagine trusting their precious and extremely expensive embryos with a typical shipping company. After hours looking for a personalized hand courier service for embryos, they realized no such business existed. Instead, they decided to transport the embryos themselves, doing the necessary research, renting the tank (called a dewar), and driving from New York to Connecticut and back again. They knew their embryos were safely cared for the entire time, and they knew exactly how long they were in transit. They were delivered to their new lab without incident, and they were able to do a frozen embryo transfer a few weeks later.

Brandon spent the next few months consulting embryologists, technicians, scientists, airlines and TSA to determine exactly what was needed to establish the safest embryo shipping company in the United States. With an extensive business background in delivery and logistics, he leveraged his skills to build Cryo Care into a company that offers a customizable embryo shipping experience.
